The 50-1 long shot, Mine That Bird took home roses Saturday at the 135th Kentucky Derby. Jockey Calvin Borel guided the horse to victory at Churchill Downs, winning a cool $2,177,200.
This was my first Derby experience, and it will certainly not be my last! Mint Juleps in hand, I put my $ on Mine That Bird and won! I am no gambler, but I liked holding that winning ticket. Mine That Bird will race May 16th at Preakness.
